About Richard
For more than four decades, Richard’s teaching has become an enduring and evolving passion. His students gain places with National Youth Orchestras in the UK and throughout Europe. His younger students secure scholarships to major private and specialist music schools. Moreover, his Music College postgraduate students attain principal and rank-and-file positions with international orchestras.
At the instigation of LMFL in 2007, Richard pioneered internet lessons in major cities on four continents, achieving considerable and lasting success. Following his own college studies, Richard played with the London Soloists Ensemble, London Mozart Players, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BBC National Orchestra in Wales. In recent years, he has conducted masterclasses and concert performances in the USA, China, Korea, Turkmenistan, France, Italy, and Spain.
Richard is a solo commercially recorded artist and has been featured on BBC Radio, Classic FM, and Chinese national television. In addition to teaching at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, he maintains a thriving private practice in Bristol and serves as a tutor on the LMFL annual summer course in South Wales.
