About Mikhail

Born in Russia, Mikhail Kazakevich studied at the Nizhny Novgorod’s State Conservatoire (founded as a division of Moscow Conservatoire) with the famous Soviet pianist and teacher Isaak Katz. After graduating with the highest honours, Mikhail joined the professorial staff at the conservatoire and taught there until 1992 when his burgeoning performing career led him to the West.

Mikhail has given solo recitals and concerts with famous orchestras in prestigious venues in Germany, France, Austria, Russia, Switzerland, Denmark, South Korea and the Middle East. In UK, he has performed at the major concert halls in London, has broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and played at numerous festivals. He has made many recordings and is noted for his interpretation of the works of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Berg, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Schubert and Schumann.

Mikhail is a Professor at  Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He also taught at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff and gave masterclasses throughout the UK and abroad. He serves as an adjudicator for piano festivals and competitions.

A more recent member of the LMFL team since 2020, Mikhail Imparts to his students his sensitivity, interpretative skills and passion for the piano.
