About Catherine

Catherine Milledge, originally from South Wales, completed her studies with a first-class degree in Classics and English from Jesus College, Oxford. Subsequently, she pursued the piano accompaniment course at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, earning a distinction for her Post-graduate Diploma. Catherine further expanded her musical knowledge by obtaining a MMus degree in solo piano.

Over the years, Catherine has cultivated a wealth of experience as an accompanist for both vocalists and instrumentalists, participating in various chamber groups. Her performance venues have ranged from Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall, and the Purcell Room to music societies and other locations across the UK and internationally. Catherine has also recorded CDs alongside accomplished musicians such as bassoonist Meyrick Alexander and saxophonist Amy Dickson. Her live performances have been featured on BBC Radio 3.

Currently residing in Cardiff, Catherine is actively involved in education, teaching at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Cardiff University. Additionally, she engages in freelance work with institutions like Welsh National Opera, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and the Wales International Academy of Voice. Since her return to Wales, Catherine has become a regular performer at MusicFest in Aberystwyth, as well as at festivals in Gregynog, Presteigne, and Vale of Glamorgan.
