Feedback from the XIII International summer course in the UK (Bristol) -As they come-

01 August 2010
Dear Arlette,
I hope the rest of the course is going well! It was such a great experience working with Alex Markov and I would like to thank you for giving me this valuable opportunity. I didn't really get to say thanks to him personally before he left because he was surrounded by so many people!
Thanks again and all the best

Dear Arlette and dear Alan,
Just returned home safely after this -as usual- special experience of Albertina  and Arturo’s XIII LMFL in Bristol, full of satisfying results and cues to reflect on about their musical future.
So excited to join you all again in a week time in Chambon sur Lignon for the XIV LMFL (that will be the twin’s seventh LMFL), we thank you for all this and for your precious warm friendship.

Hi Arlette,
Thank you for the LMFL program Leo participated! Leo returned safely back home and he was very happy on the program and enjoyed a lot of his stay in Bristol. He was able to make a lot of friends..
The overall impression of the whole program (based on Leo's feedback) was very good, and I think I could recommend this to other parents as well.
Regards,
Jari Vaario (Finland)

Dear Arlette.
 Hello.  How are you?
 I enjoyed LMFL very much.
Thank you for your kindness and hospitality.
My mother,  too.  I think my piano play is skilled up.
I want to join LMFL again.
Looking forward to seeing you again,
 Best regards.
Mahiro Tonosaki Japan (17 years old, piano and English)
Dear Arlette,
This summer break has certainly been my most memorable one, with the opportunity to live and play music with people from so many cultures and backgrounds.
The two weeks has broadened my horizons and I look forward to putting  my new cello skills to good use. Regards
Steffi Loh (Cello) – Hong Kong

Dear Arlette,

Thanks again for the wonderful time in Bristol.

I hope it went in France just as well as it went in Bristol!!

I wondered how it works with the DVD of the performances of the last days.

Will it all be on youtube in a few weeks? Or maybe sooner?

At the LMFL site I saw it would be online at the 15th of august but I couldn't find it anywhere yet.

Or is it only possible to buy the DVD to look at those performances?

And how much will such a DVD cost?

Yours sincerely,

Freya Reynaert (Netherlands)

Dear Arlette,

Thank you again for putting such a wonderful music program together for some very amazingly talented young adults.

It was a very positive and inspiring program for Bianca. She was exposed to so much more in life as possibilities to reach for within herself.

She is taking French this year in school inspired by some of kids who she met, and is keeping in contact with. Ah, the wonders of the internet.

Bianca mentionned, that there may be CD’s or recordings available of the final program.  I would love to get a copy of it if it is possible.

I would also like it if you will keep me aware of the developments of the program in France next summer. Can you tell me, is it be given in French or English?

Best wishes and thank you very much for all that you did for all of the children.

Dear Arlette

How are you?
I'm Adriano Morelli's father.
Adriano was and still is enthusiastic about teachers, enthusiastic about friends, enthusiastic at all.
Please let me know when, how, etc... I would like to buy the DVD of the final concert because Adriano don't know anything about that.
I apologize for my very poor English but accept my best regards

Dear Arlette,

Thank you so much for giving me the amazing opportunity of coming to LMFL!!!

I was so nervous as it was my first time but within five minutes of meeting you and William I was so excited!

I improved so much in terms of my piano, cello, confidence and languages!

I have just applied to do music (and possibly French and German) at university in Scotland and would love to come back to LMFL next year before I start - I might even bring my little brother along with me!

Thank you soo soo much,

Hopefully see you next year,

Dear Arlette,

I would like to thank you on Cindy's and on my own behalf for the great time she had in Bristol. Your courses are really very high standard.

The work your team did was simply fantastic and the results are evident: Cindy has passed her piano examination at the Conservatory!

Best regards and have a good time!

Dear Arlette:

I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for the excellent summer course 2010 in Bristol. Our son Kristian greatly enjoyed coming to the course for the first time in his life. He has already indicated his interest to come back next year.

A big thank you also to his teachers John Perry and Chen Zimbalista who did a great job and motivated Kristian to take his instruments very seriously.

Could you please do me a favour and send to me an e-mail address of Levke Hollmer. She told us during the course that she might be able to find a good percussion teacher for Kristian in Cologne.

We look forward to hearing from LMFL about next year's courses as soon as you have finalized the planning.

With best regards

Johannes Schmidt

Dear Arlette et Alan

On behalf o Manuel Abecasis (13 y old, violin, piano, conducting) I would like to thank you once more for the warm reception given to him for the 4th year in a row and for the organization of the course and creating the opportunity of such an experience. For Manuel it has been, once again, a privilege to work with such great teachers like Alexander Trostiansky, Rustem Kudoyarov, William Godfree and David Russell. Apart from the excellence in teaching he has been creating, through the years, a very strong feeling of friendship and admiration for this wonderful teachers and individuals. The contact with Alexander Markov has also been a challenging experience that he appreciated deeply. Manuel has a great passion for music and these weeks at LMFL allow him to work hard and experience deep progresses in his playing.

Thanks again

Feedback from the first course in Le Chambon-sur-Lignon-As they come-
Here we are finally home with the fresh memory of the wonderful moments past together in Le Chambon sur Lignon.
With Albertina and Arturo and Giacomo Ferraris (violinist and conductor) we spent
t all the way back to Italy singing the Choir songs in the car , trying to fight against the sickness of the hard return back; going through all the memories of the particular conducting experiences flashes(and not only) and the very precious Conducting Teacher and Artistic Director of this LMFL Course that we will all remember as very special.
What to say else than to encourage the LMFL to continue on this line!
Love from Betta Cozzi for twins 17 years old:
Albertina Del Bo   -violin, piano and voice tuition and Arturo Del Bo , piano, conducting and percussion

Hi, Arlette,
I hope you and Alan are doing well and catching up on rest after the busy weeks of conferences!  Are you taking some time off to travel or be with family, or are you headed back to Bristol right away?
Nathan made it home safely late Saturday night, and we are beginning to get back to normal. [Normal is always busy with a household of six (as I know you know!).]  Sorry it was such a scramble getting him on the way.  He slept through 2 alarms - and could not respond to my skype call either.  Cumulative fatigue from the week and especially the concert, no doubt..
We both had such a wonderful time at the conference.  I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and Alan and Ashley's lovely family and so many wonderful parents and teachers.
Le Chambon-sur-Lignon was a delightful setting, too, and I really appreciated the rich historical context.
I am sorry to have missed the final concert, but look forward to the seeing the video when it becomes available.  Special thanks again for remembering Nathan's birthday so kindly.  I have seen pictures of the beautiful chocolate cake.
How nice!  Nathan was truly touched and really appreciated everyone's kindness.
It was a special day for him in a special place!
A final thank you, too, to Alan for transporting us so kindly and efficiently.  You and he are a remarkable team!  It has been a pleasure getting to know you both.
I am attaching a few photos I took.  Hopefully, they will make it through cyberspace!  I hope to order DVDs of several concerts soon, too.
Thanks again for all your kindness and for a great course!
Wishing you a restful September -
Warm regards,
Anne Heath USA (for Nathan, 18 years old- David Russell’s violin master class)

Arlette,
I wanted to thank you and Alan for creating a course that both Edu and I have enjoyed and benefitted from immensely.
Also please express my gratitude to William Godfree for many hours of pleasure, instruction and entertainment.
Anna Jordon, Edu's English teacher has done wonders for his spoken English and Rustem, his piano teacher, can work miracles.
The car journey back to Madrid was over 15 hours but without undue stress and Ishka, the dog, behaved well. I hope the reunion with Archie, the Welsh terrier, was a happy one. We arrived to a very hot city and it must be a truth here that only "mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid-day sun"!
Best wishes,
Barry Delany
