Steve Banks grew up in the Cotswolds in rural England. He has since lived in Leeds, London and Manchester and currently lives in Dorchester on the south coast of England. As a student he attended The Guitar Institute in London and received a BA(Hons) Jazz Studies at Leeds College of Music before studying with Wayne Krantz in New York. He has since worked as a solo artist, band leader and session musician, playing and performing withtop musicians around the UK covering Jazz, Funk, Blues and Popular Music styles. An inspiring and committed teacher, he has
extensive experience teaching individuals and classes at all levels. Steve currently designs and teaches the
guitar course for the BA (Hons) Popular Music Performance at Southampton
