Michael
Christian Durrant is an English performer and
teacher. He took up
the Classical Guitar at the age of four and began his formal musical
education as a scholarship student at King Edwards VI College. He then went
on to study at Leeds College of Music where he worked with the eminent
pedagogue Peter Batchelar. During his
studies Michael also attended master-classes with such luminaries as Eduardo Catemario, Ricardo Gallen and
David Russell. As a tutor
himself, Michael teaches complete beginners through to more advanced players
who are looking to develop their technique as classical players. Michael aims to cultivate a passion for the
classical guitar that he himself has felt throughout his life and to inspire
his students towards a lifetime of enjoyment on the instrument. Michael
has performed extensively over the past few years at the Leeds College of
Music concert season as well as throughout others venues across England. Additionally,
Michael is a keen composer. Having won composition scholarships during his
studies, he has written works for both small and large ensembles and
continues to nurture this talent. Michael
started teaching in LMFL Summer course in 2011, he is a great inspiration for
his students |
