Michael Christian Durrant is an English performer and teacher.

He took up the Classical Guitar at the age of four and began his formal musical education as a scholarship student at King Edwards VI College. He then went on to study at Leeds College of Music where he worked with the eminent pedagogue Peter Batchelar.

During his studies Michael also attended master-classes with such luminaries as Eduardo Catemario, Ricardo Gallen and David Russell.

 

As a tutor himself, Michael teaches complete beginners through to more advanced players who are looking to develop their technique as classical players.

 Michael aims to cultivate a passion for the classical guitar that he himself has felt throughout his life and to inspire his students towards a lifetime of enjoyment on the instrument.

Michael has performed extensively over the past few years at the Leeds College of Music concert season as well as throughout others venues across England.

 

Additionally, Michael is a keen composer. Having won composition scholarships during his studies, he has written works for both small and large ensembles and continues to nurture this talent.

Michael started teaching in LMFL Summer course in 2011, he is a great inspiration for his students
