Levke Hollmer  Flute and Piccolo

Levke Hollmer, born 1973, studied flute and piccolo in Essen, Karlsruhe and Paris (CNSMD). 1993 she won the 2nd price in the Federal competition of “Jugend musiziert“ and in 2000 she successfully took part in the renowned  “ARD“ music competition.

 

Currently Levke holds the solo piccolo chair and the co-principal flute chair with the „Nederland’s Philharmonisch Orkest“ and the „Nederland’s Kamerorkest“ in Amsterdam. Before that she was part of the Philharmonic Orchestra Essen, the “Neue Philharmonie Westfalen“ and the “SWR Symphonic Orchestra” in Freiburg/Baden-Baden.

 

As a solo flutist she worked regularly with e.g. the Scottish Chamber Orchestra (SCO), the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Opera Halle, the Budapest Strings and the Gürzenich Orchestra of Cologne.

 

As solo piccolo she has worked with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Philharmonia Hungarica, and the BBC Philharmonic in Manchester and several times at the "Salzburger Festspiele“.

Levke Hollmer teaches private students   and is specialized to preparing pupils and students for entrance examinations and performances. She has recorded various CDs with different orchestras and in chamber music
